VOCABULARY


  • ABJURE (VERB)
MEANING : 
TO RENOUNCE, REPUDIATE OR RETRACT, ESPECIALLY WITH FORMAL SOLEMNITY
EXAMPLE:
1.When he came into the theatre the proconsul urged him to "revile Christ," and promised, if he would consent to abjure his faith, that he would set him at liberty.
2.Ali gave everything he had without requiring him to abjure his religious.

  • LETHARGY (NOUN)
MEANING : 
THE FEELING OF BEING VERY TIRED AND NOT HAVING ANY ENERGY.
EXAMPLE:
1. I find the lethargy and confused reasoning the hardest to cope with, with social skills a close third.
2. Sam felt lethargy after playing the derby match against Barcelona. 
  • GNARLED (ADJECTIVE)
MEANING : 
ROUGH AND HAVING GROWN INTO A STRANGE SHAPE, BECAUSE OF OLD AGE OR HARD WORK.
EXAMPLE : 
1. My grandfather had gnarled fingers.
2. The gnarled trunks of the oaks glared at him with furrowed wooden eyebrows.
  • IMPEACH (VERB)
MEANING : 
TO ACCUSE (A PUBLIC OFFICIAL) BEFORE AN APPROPRIATE TRIBUNAL OF MISCONDUCT IN OFFICE.
EXAMPLE : 
1. We have to impeach our leaders in a proper way before the senate. 
2. The House of Representatives may impeach the president.
  • MUNDANE ( ADJECTIVE)
MEANING : 
NOT INTERESTING OR EXCITING.
EXAMPLE : 
1. We will not understand something easily if we study in a mundane way.
2. I don't really get into mundane astrology at all.
