COGENT (adjective)
Definition:
A cogent argument, reason, etc. is clearly expressed and persuades people to believe it.
Example:
The salesman used cogent arguments to capsize his sales.
CONVOLUTED (adjective)
Definition:
a. very twisted.
b. Convoluted sentences, explanations, arguments, etc. are unreasonably long and difficult to understand.
Example:
a. He was lost due to the convoluted route.
b. His grammar explanation are terribly convoluted.
LABYRINTHINE (adjective)
Definition:
used to describe something that has a lot of parts and is therefore confusing.
Example:
It takes a fair amount of concentration to follow the movie's labyrinthine plot.
UNTENABLE (adjective)
Definition:
a. If a theory or argument is untenable, it cannot be supported or defended against criticism.
b. An untenable situation cannot continue as it is
Example:
b. If three people in four no longer support the government, isn't this an untenable situation?
LUCID (adjective)
Definition:
clearly expressed and easy to understand, or (of a person) thinking or speaking clearly.
Example:
- She gave a clear and lucid account of her plans for the company's future.
- The drugs she's taking make her drowsy and confused, but there are times when she's quite lucid.
