VOCABULARY

EUPHEMISM (noun)
Definition:
a word or phrase used to avoid saying an unpleasant or offensive word.
Example:
"Senior citizen" is a euphemism for "old person".

ENTICE (verb)
Definition:
to persuade someone to do something by offering them something pleasant.
Example:
-The adverts entice the customer into buying things they don't really want.
-[+ to infinitive] A smell of coffee in the doorway enticed people to enter the shop.

RESTORATIVE (noun)
Definition:
something that makes you feel better or more energetic if you are feeling tired or ill.
Example:
After a hard day at the office, a hot bath is a welcome restorative.

INCLEMENT (adjective)
Definition:
Inclement weather is unpleasant, especially with cold wind and rain.
Example:
Some people can easily get sick during inclement weather.

PECCADILLO (noun)
Definition:
a small fault or a not very bad action.
Example:
He dismissed what had happened as a mere peccadillo.
