Gambol (verb)
Definition:
to run and jump in a happy way.
Example:
Lambs were gamboling about in the spring sunshine.

Intransigence (adjective)
Definition:
refusing to change your opinions or behavior.
Example:
Unions claim that the management continues to maintain an intransigent position.

Modicum (noun)
Definition:
a small amount of something good such as truth or honesty.
Example:
There's not even a modicum of truth in her statement.

Perfunctory (adjective)
Definition:
done quickly, without taking care or interest.
Example:

His smile was perfunctory.

Dauntless (adjective)
Definition:
showing determination and no fear.
Example:

In spite of the scale of the famine, the relief workers struggled on with dauntless optimism.
