Spellbinding (adjective)
Definition:
holding your attention completely.
He gave a spellbinding performance.

Boomerang (verb)
Definition:
If a plan boomerangs, it brings a harmful result instead of the intended good one.
Example:
Our plan to take over the business could boomerang on us if we're not careful.

Reciprocate (verb)
Definition:
to share the same feelings as someone else, or to behave in the same way as someone else.
Example:
Sadly, my feelings for him were not reciprocated.

Prevail (verb)
Definition:
a.to get control or influence.
Example:
I am sure that common sense will prevail in the end.

Definition:
b.to be common among a group of people or area at a particular time.
Example:
This attitude still prevails among the middle classes.

Dispassionate (adjective)
Definition:
able to think clearly or make good decisions because of not being influenced by emotions.
Example:
In all the media hysteria, there was one journalist whose comments were clear-sighted and dispassionate.
