VOCABULARY 

Attenuate (verb)
Definition:
to make something smaller, thinner, or weaker.
Example:
Radiation from the sun is attenuated by the Earth's atmosphere.

Commandeer (verb)
Definition:
to take possession of or control private property by force or for military use.
Example:
The army commandeer the citizens' rights to take over the administration.

Drivel (noun)
Definition:
nonsense or boring and unnecessary information.
Example:
You don't believe the drivel you read on the internet, do you?

Futile (adjective)
Definition:
(of actions) having no effect or achieving nothing.
Example:
Attempts to get supplies to the region are futile because troops will not allow the aid convoy to enter the city.

Momentous (adjective)
Definition:
very important because of effects on future events.
Example:
The momentous news of the president's death may lead to the unstable economic in this country.
