VOCABULARY

Gaunt (adjective)
Definition:
a.very thin, especially because of sickness or hunger.
b.empty and not attractive
Example:
a.Her face was gaunt and grey.
b.The house looked gaunt and unwelcoming.

Inviolable (adjective)
Definition:
that must be respected and not removed or ignored.
Example:
Everyone has an inviolable right to protection by a fair legal system.

Morose (adjective)
Definition:
unhappy, annoyed, and unwilling to speak or smile 
Example:
Why are you so morose these days?

Persnickety (adjective)
Definition:
giving too much attention to small details that are not important in a way that annoys other people.
Example:
You should be too persnickety as you might hurt anyone.

Banal (adjective)
Definition:
boring, ordinary, and not original.
Example:
He just sat there making banal remarks all evening.
